Job Description

The Crawford County Commission of Veterans Affairs is seeking qualified candidates to fill a vacancy for a three-year term.

The selected candidate will attend a monthly meeting, to assess the services and benefits available and/or administrated to the veterans, military members and their families within the county.  The VA Commission assists with budgetary processes, assists with planning and facilitating outreach activities, and proving oversight and direction to the VA Office and staff.

The selected candidate will be paid $50 per regularly scheduled meeting and mileage to meetings and training.  This position is considered part-time and is not eligible for any of the county’s paid benefits package other than IPERS.

Qualifications: Must be a veteran as defined by Iowa Code Chapter 35.1 with an honorable discharge, must be a resident of Crawford County and provide an unaltered copy of their DD214 with the application.
